The Papillion Fire Department provides emergency medical (EMS) and fire protection services to approximately 70,000 people. These services involve responding to incidents in the following areas: City of Papillion, City of La Vista, and the rural communities in the southern part of Sarpy County; a total of 68 square miles. Fire Operations consist of 2 Ambulances (Medic Units), 3 Engine Companies, 1 Ladder Truck company, and one Battalion Chief on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Administrative staff consists of the Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Training Battalion Chief, Fire Marshal, Fire Inspector, EMS Manager, Fire Investigators, Administrative Assistant, and EMS Billing Clerk.

The Papillion Fire Department is rich in history and tradition, serving as a volunteer department from the late 1800’s until 1998 when it became a combination department. In 2010, Papillion Fire transitioned to a fully paid professional department. In 2014, Papillion Fire began providing fire and EMS services for the city of La Vista. As a growing, professional fire service organization, we have expanded into the specialized duties of fire prevention, investigation, HazMat, and Special Operations. As the need for public safety expands, Papillion Fire is there to provide the necessary services to ensure the quality of life for the citizens and neighbors of Papillion is maintained.

Thank you again for taking time to read about the services Papillion Fire provides, ensuring a safer community for all who live and work in Papillion, La Vista, and the surrounding rural communities.
